Tangible Media Group

Handsaw is a novel interaction technique for tangible exploration of volumetric data by direct cut-plane projection. An outstretched hand or a laser line projected onto a solid mass shows the resulting cross-sectional information on an adjacent screen. This interaction technique can be useful to help novices and experts work together on complex tasks such as understanding an MRI scan, electromagnetic radiation or climate patterns.
