Rosalie Hsin-Ju Lin is a design/material researcher who is passionate about leveraging soft, tangible materials to blur the boundary between human-technology interfaces. She is now a master's student at Harvard Graduate School of Design, MDes Technology, focusing on the topics of smart textile, soft mechanism, and tangible interfaces.
Previous experience that led her to this field includes work at Nike OEM in Vietnam and at Morphing Matter Lab at CMU. At Nike OEM, she gained knowledge of soft material techniques such as textiles, form, and mass production of shoes. At Morphing Matter Lab, she started her research journey, leading a project about moldable, customizable, and shape-changing prostheses for breast cancer survivors. Most recently, she worked on carbon fiber composite, using weaving techniques to deploy multi-softness and enabling parametric designs in one-piece furniture at Advanced International Multitech in Taiwan.
