Lei Xia is a Ph.D. candidate at the College of Design and Innovation at Tongji University, where his research centers on virtual reality (VR), spatial computing, and digital embodiment in human-centered design systems. His work investigates how immersive technologies—such as VR, AR, and multi-sensory interfaces—can shape user experience, cognition, and interaction within complex product and service ecosystems. Drawing on theories from embodied cognition and human–computer interaction, he explores how virtual environments and embodied digital agents can enhance engagement, trust, learning, and collaboration.
Lei’s research combines design research, experimental user studies, and applied prototyping, with a particular focus on VR-enabled interaction paradigms, multi-modal perception, and immersive system design. He has collaborated with academic and industry partners on VR-related projects spanning education, healthcare, cultural heritage, and enterprise systems, and actively disseminates his work through international conferences and peer-reviewed publications. His interdisciplinary approach bridges design, technology, and organizational contexts, enabling him to translate immersive research insights into practical, real-world applications.
