Ko IshiyamaResearch Affiliate
Ko Ishiyama is a research affiliate with the Tangible Media Group at the MIT Media Lab. His research explores how TeleAbsence systems, powered by multi-modal and multi-agent AI, can be applied to Japanese cultural practices such as calligraphy, painting, and sculpture—creating tangible learning experiences that connect people across time and space. Previously, he served as Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo (2018–2021) and Visiting Professor at Shizuoka University (2017–2018), where he conducted research in artificial intelligence.
