Tangible Media Group

Gigi Minsky is an olfactory designer whose work sits at the intersection of scent, memory, and multisensory experience design. She is currently a Research Affiliate with the Tangible Media Group at the MIT Media Lab, contributing to the TeleAbsence vision through projects that use fragrance, sound, and immersive environments to reimagine how absence and presence are experienced. Her installations seek to plant memories, embody them in sensory form, and illuminate the deep connection between scent and memory.

Minsky holds a degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is beginning the Masters in Scent Design & Creation at ISIPCA / IFF in Versailles. She is the co-founder of Senseory, a biotech startup engineering plants and microbes to produce living fragrances, and previously worked at MycoWorks developing sustainable materials from mycelium. Her broader body of work spans fragrance chemistry, fragrance network science, and multisensory installations such as Vicarious Memories and the forthcoming Memory Garden.
